Shannon Gathings, AIA, NOMA becomes a Registered Architect
Congratulations to our Associate Shannon F. Gathings, AIA, NOMA for recently becoming a registered architect in the State of Mississippi! Licensure is a major personal and professional milestone for her as one of few licensed black female architects in the state and nation. Black women currently represent only 0.4 percent of the total population of approximately 91,000 licensed architects. Shannon has dedicated much of her time in AIA national leadership advocating for a shift in this reality and helping to build a more diverse profession. Shannon has always had an unwavering passion for architecture and its potential to make communities healthier, with this accomplishment she expands her agency to successfully lead these efforts. Once again – CONGRATULATIONS!
