Public work is the value of architectural form that simultaneously serves and challenges culture. The site of public work is multivalent. At once we owe loyalties to our most intimate relationships; our partners, friends and family. Then we form space to teach and grow civitas redressing our loyalties to our streets, neighborhoods, city, and region; then encompassing even larger loyalties of our country, culture, environment, and species.
